A: Yes, NBA Baller Beats is easy to play and hard to master. There are 3 levels for all skill sets: Rookie, Pro and Baller. There are easy songs to start off with, but also difficult songs that will challenge even the best ball-handlers. Our goal for this game is to be fun to those who already play basketball, as well as accessible to those that want to learn and get better. For those latter folks, we've created a really fun experience to practice, learn, and improve their skills.
Q: Do you have to know how to play basketball to play the game?
A: NO! Of course, when we put the game in front of skilled players (high school, college, or pro) they pick it up immediately. But there's also a ton of people who are not skilled at basketball that have played the game and picked it up after a few tries and had fun playing.
Q: Is there multiplayer?
A: You can play head-to-head with up to 8 players locally. This is where you can really show off and try to show up your opponents.
Q: Will it come with a ball?
A: Yes, NBA Baller Beats will come packaged with a full size Spalding game replica basketball.
Q: Can you use a different ball?
A: The game will come with a full size, real, Spalding basketball. However, you can use another ball as long as it is the general size and shape of a basketball and is not completely black in color. Click here to see examples of the different balls you can use.
Q: Is it possible to play in a carpeted room?
A: Yes, this game works on most surfaces. "Most" means it does not work on shag rugs! We've tested the game on several different surfaces including all different types and thicknesses of carpet, and yes it works on most surfaces. We should also point out that the game works with different types of balls, so if someone wanted more bounce, less weight in a ball (for example, a younger child may want this), that may have a better feel to the bounce based on your surface, you can use that type of ball as well.
Q: How much space do I need to play NBA Baller Beats?
A: If you already own a Kinect™, NBA Baller Beats requires the same amount of space as any other Kinect™ game. Players are relatively stationary and don't need to move around that much. It requires the same amount of room or even LESS than all other Kinect™ games out there.
Q: Will the dribbling bounce your Kinect™ – how will you stabilize the Kinect™?
A: We're confident in the stabilization of the Kinect™ assuming it's on a flat surface. In all the testing we've done, we've never come across an issue with the Kinect™ stability.
